On Sunday, 25 January 2026, the 43rd Edition of the Johnson Crane Hire Marathon hosted by Benoni Harriers took off at Willowmore Park in Benoni. This race is loved by our KTSAC family and running clubs in general as it's the most popular race in the East Rand. For our team, it's pretty much home-ground advantage.
Last year (26 Jan 2025) overall our stats saw 36 finishers across the following distances: 17 Athletes Completed 42km, 13 completed 21km and 6 completed 10km races.
This year (2026) however KTSC had 37 Entries, 28 starters and finishes. Two 10km Finishes, 13 21km finishers and 12 42km finishers.

What is noteworthy about this year's race in particular is the growth in members who are partaking in shorter distsances instead of being marathon-centric, of which many are using this race to qualify for Comrades. As far Comrades qualification is concerned, 10 marathon runners managed to secure the (minimum) qualifier of sub 5 hours
The KTSAC Family also managed to recruit new members leading up to this race, many of them were present and the executive would like to thank everyone who joined and those who renewed their membership statuses to mantain the club. Visibility is important and the photos don't lie, massive respect to our members for showing up for the run and the braai Rekoufela!
